About us

At Fenton Fitzwilliam, we're a dynamic team of communicators, policy geeks, media wizards, strategic thinkers, and hands-on doers. Whether it's healthcare, transportation, technology, or sustainability, we turn business needs into political action and translate political realities into effective business strategies.

The role

Fenton Fitzwilliam is seeking an Account Director to join our Dublin team. The role will focus on public affairs, advising clients on Ireland and EU policy, political and regulatory issues, while also leading work across corporate communications, reputation management, media relations and digital strategy.

Key responsibilities

* Define and deliver strategic public affairs and communications programmes encompassing stakeholder engagement, government relations, regulatory monitoring, campaign strategy, media and digital communications.
* Foster client relationships by deepening value, delivering measurable impact and applying creativity and vision around how key objectives are met.
* Lead new business development by preparing compelling proposals, responding to tenders/RFPs, shaping pitch strategy, and identifying new BD angles.
* Manage, mentor and develop the account team (senior, mid and junior staff) to ensure high performance and professional growth.
* Oversight of client budgets, resource allocation and team staffing.
* Ensure high-quality output through strategic thinking, commercial awareness, excellent writing and presentation skills, and rigorous delivery of results.

What we're looking for

* 5+ years' experience (agency or in-house) in public affairs/government relations/strategic communications, ideally in one or more of our core sectors (healthcare, energy, transport, tech, sustainability).
* Proven track record as a trusted client account lead, delivering impactful programmes, and growing business.
* Strong network and awareness of Irish (and ideally EU / UK) policy, regulatory, stakeholder and media environments.
* Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
* Experience with managing budgets, client profitability, resource planning.
* Ability to distil complex policy/regulatory issues into clear messaging, present to senior audiences, and lead media and stakeholder engagement.
* Self-starter with energy, creativity, resilience and a "make it happen" attitude.

What we value

Our promise: you won't just be heard you'll be understood

* We're driven by doing our clients proud - for us hitting KPIs is just for starters, so we roll up our sleeves and get on with the job
* We're energised by empathy - because getting people to see your perspective depends on us being able to see theirs
* We'll never stop asking how, why and what if - because curiosity is a superpower in a world that keeps spinning
* Collegiate collaboration – working together as partners makes us more than the sum of our parts.
