About the Position
My client is currently looking to hire a Strategic Sourcing Specialist who will be a key hire for the organisation and will be responsible for all sourcing activity for the unlicensed medicines business.
In this role, you will be responsible for analysing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and developing strategic initiatives. This role requires expertise in procurement practices, supplier relationship management and negotiation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market trends and demonstrate a sharp business insight.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive global drug shortages and exclusive access initiatives
* Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in supply markets
* Support Business Unit targets, ensuring that targets are achieved each month
* Continuously work to identify business development opportunities to contribute to growing the unlicensed business unit as well as the wider On Demand business through procurement excellence
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure long-term partnerships
* Strategic collaboration with external stakeholders
* Work closely with internal teams, including operations, finance, and legal, to align sourcing initiatives with business needs
* Identify risks, both within the portfolio and in the supply chain. Develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks
* Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Use analytics to measure the success of sourcing strategies and inform future decisions
* Support cross-functional tasks when required
* Ownership of stock from beginning of lifecycle to end
* Ensure price competitiveness against the market while ensuring growth margin
Experience/Requirements
* Commercially focused with a proven ability to evaluate business opportunities and risks
* 5+ years’ of pharmaceutical/ healthcare experience is essential
* 5+ years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a strategic role.
* Ability to communicate in a professional manner and effectively manage internal and external relationships
* Experienced in stakeholder management/negotiation/relationship management/commercial decision making
* Excellent IT and Microsoft Office capabilities
