Overview
Syntech Recruitment are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to become the go-to partner for new and existing clients, someone who thrives on solving complex challenges and building lasting commercial relationships.
You'll act as a trusted advisor, using your technical expertise to guide clients, shape bespoke solutions, and grow long-term revenue streams for the business.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for your customer base, offering expert technical guidance
Conduct regular on-site client visits, developing a deep understanding of operational needs and future plans
Lead on major tenders and quotations, aligning proposals with technical capability and commercial value
Support with pricing and proposal development, ensuring submissions meet deadlines
Build rapport with clients by handling queries professionally and with urgency
Attend sales briefings and pursue opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and provide tailored solutions
Proactively generate new business
, identifying and converting opportunities into results
Work to meet and exceed
sales targets and KPIs
Track all sales activity via
CRM systems and Excel
, providing clear and timely updates
Represent the business at
industry events and trade shows
, promoting the brand and building relationships
Qualifications
Proven success in a
technical sales role
, ideally within recycling, capital equipment, heavy engineering, or construction
Background or knowledge in
mechanical, electrical or fabrication
environments highly desirable
Confident reading
technical drawings
and discussing complex layouts
Exposure to
AutoCAD
or 3D design software is an added bonus
A confident, approachable communicator with a
strong commercial mindset
Skilled at
consultative selling
and engaging with senior decision-makers
Highly organised and
CRM-savvy
– able to manage a busy pipeline with clarity
Proficient in
Microsoft Office
, particularly Excel
