PositionSenior Quantity Surveyor – Dundalk, County Louth, IrelandEmployer: OccupopResponsibilitiesWork with the senior commercial team to protect company interests at project and programme level.Oversee commercial activity on specific projects and programmes.Implement and oversee the monthly cycle of account application, cost reconciliation and earned value reporting.Assess risk and opportunity and monitor supply chain on an ongoing basis.Uphold core values and inspire a culture of trust and collaboration with clients and delivery teams.Support the delivery team in the most beneficial way and contribute to overall business strategy.Develop and implement project‑specific commercial/contract strategies.Assist in cost build‑up and forecasting for projects.Support delivery team in appointment of key packages including final negotiations and supplier/sub‑contract agreements.Compile monthly payment applications and submit to the client as per contract requirements.Maintain a healthy cash position on contracts.Provide cost backup and cost reconciliation for the payment process.Monitor and challenge change control with project delivery teams.Assess monthly payment claims from sub‑contractors and process payment certificates.Agree on a final account and associated payment certificate at the end of scope.Conduct monthly earned value reporting and ensure accurate view of cost accruals, work progress, cashflow and costs to completion.Develop, negotiate and manage all commercial agreements/contracts to mitigate risks and optimise opportunities.Support project delivery teams in commercial management of contractual issues during contract delivery.Be aware of changes in legislation, geopolitical issues or weather events that may affect delivery and support protection and recovery if required.Analyse and report on complex situations and potential opportunities/risks of variations to cost or programme.Build relationships with equivalent client‑side commercial leads and instil trust and collaboration.Work with delivery teams to develop final accounts, liaise with clients to resolve final accounts.Escalate disputes to Commercial Manager and Commercial Director.Build and promote industry‑leading teams by providing training and mentoring to more junior staff.Seek to improve commercial management processes by providing lessons‑learned feedback and innovative solutions.Work self‑motivated and autonomously if required.Keep appraised of latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).Other duties as required from time to time.QualificationsMinimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably in a similar industry.Minimum Level 8 Honours Degree in a relevant Quantity Surveying Qualification.Competent understanding of international, local and bespoke forms of contract such as FIDIC, NEC, IChemE, PWC, etc.Experience in managing change control, risks, opportunities, budget control and variations is essential.Experience in monthly routines such as Earned Value Reporting is essential.Experience in compiling and drafting contractual entitlements is desirable.Ability to use own initiative, problem‑solve and adjust as issues arise during contract.Excellent working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.Strong communication skills with a high level of motivation.Full driving licence.BenefitsOpportunity to join an ambitious and growing organisation.Monday to Friday working week finishing early on Fridays.22 days annual leave plus 10 bank holidays.Competitive base salary.A company laptop and phone.Car allowance.Access to EAP – 24/7 365 days confidential employee counselling service, free to avail for employees and their families.
