Social Care Worker / Senior Support Worker

About the Role
As we expand to meet the needs of those we care for, we have opportunities within our Orchard Community Care division at our homes in Corlea and Kilshrewley, Co. Longford, for full-time and part-time Social Care Workers.
We welcome you to join our team to provide residential and day services to children and adults with medium to profound disabilities, including life-limiting conditions. Our multidisciplinary teams are supported by psychologists, behavioural therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.
Working on a shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines, providing direct support to those we care for, enhancing their development, health, and wellbeing.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualification at Level 7 or above in a relevant area (e.g., Social Care, Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community)
* Full manual driving license valid in Ireland
* Eligibility and availability to work with us
Desirable:
* At least one year's recent experience in the social services sector
Main Responsibilities:
* Support the daily running of the service with a person-centred approach
* Complete personal plans in line with regulations and standards
* Support individuals in their daily lives and choices
* Engage with families, clinicians, and community links
* Implement positive support programmes
* Promote independence and community integration
* Stay informed on social care policies and sectoral changes
* Encourage and motivate individuals to participate in activities
* Lead key working in collaboration with those supported
* Assist with personal care and daily needs
* Work collaboratively with team members, attend meetings, and engage in supervisions
* Perform health and safety checks, risk assessments, and report accordingly
* Manage medication in accordance with policy
* Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, families, and relevant parties
* Work flexible shifts, including day and night, as part of rolling rosters
* Perform additional tasks within the role scope to meet service needs
