About the Role:
EPS Group has an immediate vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join our Contracts team assigned to projects in North Leinster.
As part of our growing team, you will be responsible for the electrical engineering activities on Wastewater Treatment Plants and Water Treatment Plants.
No two days will be the same, so your activities will vary and will be agreed with the Contracts Manager on an ongoing basis.
You will support the design team through the process up to and including the onsite installation and commissioning phase.
A highly varied, challenging role providing invaluable exposure to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure
Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams to support troubleshooting and system integration
Complete electrical design review to identify design gaps and deviations or contradictions in specifications
Validate cable sizing and make recommendations as appropriate
Compile and issue technical submittals
Ensure compliance with electrical codes (NSAI Irish Standard I.S.
10101:2020 IEC, WIMES), safety regulations, and environmental standards
Manage electrical aspects of projects and liaise with contractors and suppliers, ensuring a robust procurement process
Review the electrical installation with the BIM team to ensure the design is constructible and that there is adequate space for installation and maintenance of all equipment and cabling
Liaise with the design team & supply chain to ensure systems are compliant with specifications and drawings
Manage specialist vendors during the commissioning process to ensure timely completion of their works
Develop Site Instruction Packs, handover packs and test packs as required
Attending quality meetings and participate in QA/QC walk downs when required
Review and answer technical queries from site in relation to specifications/drawings/materials and equipment
Issue requisitions and ensure all materials delivered are as per specifications and submittals
Work with multi-disciplinary teams, including automation, mechanical, civil, and process engineers
Key Competencies and Skills:
2 - 5 years minimum experience in a related industry
Technical knowledge and experience of 3 phase industrial installations, specifically including 3 phase motors, starters, control panels, PLC's and associated instrumentation
Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams
Experience with AutoCAD and Trimble for electrical design and layout
Strong technical knowledge of Safe Electric certification
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team
Ability to lead and take responsibility for project completion
Qualifications:
Third level Electrical Engineering
Similar relevant third level qualification and experience will be considered
Full EU/ Irish driving licence
