About the Role
The Team Leader is responsible for the operational management of one or more locations within our supported living services, as well as providing direct care and support to the people supported by WALK.
This is a key role within the leadership structure of the organisation and in ensuring person-centred and autism-informed approaches are inherent in the thinking and practice of staff.
The Team Leader will work collaboratively with the Team Coordinator and the local team to provide safe and effective services under the HIQA registration and inspection criteria.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver on the vision of the organisation to support people to have self-determined lives in socially inclusive communities.
* Be solution-oriented and promote a culture which works in partnership with the people we support to build a life reflective of their individual hopes, aspirations, will and preference.
* Implement interventions that are guided by a low-arousal, rights-based, autism-informed approach.
* Develop a motivated team who are effective in providing safe and person-centred support for the people in our care.
* Ensure teams effectively deliver on person-centred goals and work with people WALK support to develop their skills, competencies and confidence in order to make positive contributions in their community.
* Support staff teams to ensure they build meaningful and supportive connections with the people WALK support, their families and community through a range of interests access to community activities, venues and services.
* Regularly supervise and provide feedback on performance which results in agreed outcomes identified to develop competencies in line with progression of people supported goals.
Essential Criteria:
* A third-level qualification in Social Care or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Autism.
* Experience leading teams in the social care sector.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge and experience of implementing National Standards and Regulations.
* A full driver's license is mandatory for Kildare service.
Desirable Criteria:
* A management qualification.
* Knowledge and experience of an autism-informed approach.
* Experience managing rosters.

Flexible work hours including sleepovers, weekends, and bank holidays.
169 hours per month on a 7-day roster; 281 hours annual leave.
50% premium payment paid for Sunday hours.
