We are seeking a senior Automation Engineer (minimum 10 years' experience) to lead and deliver high-impact automation initiatives within a regulated medical device environment; candidates with strong pharma or biotech backgrounds will also be considered. This role requires a proven track record of owning automation projects end-to-end—covering requirements definition, design, development, implementation, and validation of PLC/SCADA and equipment control systems. The consultant will be responsible for driving system upgrades, leading root-cause investigations, ensuring compliance, and overseeing integration activities across multiple production lines. The ideal candidate has demonstrated leadership in delivering complex automation solutions, managing stakeholders, and guiding technical decisions that enhance reliability and performance. Position is onsite in Cork, with the option to work from home on Fridays.
