Job Overview:
The successful candidate will oversee the financial performance of a fast-growing retail group, overseeing day-to-day finance operations and providing actionable insights to support strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage finances, including management accounts, cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes across the group.
* Provide financial insights and reporting to support operational and strategic decisions.
* Collaborate with store managers and department heads to monitor and control costs.
* Work with external auditors and manage year-end audit processes.
* Develop and enhance internal controls, financial systems, and procedures.
* Drive continuous improvement and automation within finance processes.
* Support stock control, margin analysis, and retail performance KPIs.
Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 2-3 years PQE.
* Background in retail/FMCG/multi-company setup highly desirable.
* Proven ability to manage and lead a small finance team.
* Strong knowledge of accounts payable, reconciliations, and multi-company reporting.
* Proficient in Microsoft Business Central and advanced Excel.
* Strong organisational and interpersonal skills; able to guide and motivate the team.
* Hands-on approach with a track record of delivering accurate monthly accounts and driving process improvements.
* Excellent communication skills to partner effectively with senior management.
* Ability to balance hands-on transactional work with oversight and improvements.
