About the Position
An exciting opportunity for a hands‑on Quality Engineer to support the design, development, and rollout of innovative digital products and services within a fast‑paced Agile environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross‑functional teams including Architects, Developers, Product Owners, Data Engineers, Technical Analysts, and Delivery Managers to ensure high‑quality software delivery and support rapid deployment initiatives.
This role is ideally suited to someone passionate about automation, continuous improvement, and embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary Quality Assurance and Automation Engineering resource across the software platform
Contribute to the implementation and execution of the overall QA strategy, including test planning and automation frameworks
Develop and maintain automated test solutions across UI and backend services
Support and improve automated QA processes across all stages of development
Identify, log, track, and retest software defects throughout the defect lifecycle
Collaborate across Agile Scrum teams to promote quality as part of the Definition of Done
Work confidently with open‑source testing frameworks and modern testing tools
Support continuous delivery and rapid deployment initiatives
The Person
Required Experience
2+ years’ experience in automated testing using Java or Groovy
2+ years’ experience in UI test automation
Experience working with relational databases
Previous experience operating within Agile delivery environments
Preferred Experience
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent commercial experience
Experience testing RESTful APIs and services
Exposure to cloud or data engineering environments
Experience with tools/technologies such as:
Playwright
Maven
GitHub
MySQL
Databricks
Gatling
Great Expectations / Data Quality frameworks
Experience testing React‑based applications
Previous involvement in large‑scale or enterprise‑wide projects
Software development background advantageous
Experience within regulated or highly data‑driven industries beneficial
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
Passion for automation and continuous improvement
Comfortable working in fast‑moving Agile teams
Ability to influence and champion QA best practices across engineering teams
