You'll be responsible for timely financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with all relevant regulations.This position offersexcellent career progression prospectsand is an integral part of the Credit Union'ssuccession planning within the finance function— an ideal move for a motivated finance professional seeking to broaden their experience in a regulated financial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Head of Finance in managing the day-to-day finance operations.Ensure compliance with financial governance standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.Perform daily end-of-day reconciliations and transaction reviews.Review and approve monthly bank and cash reconciliations.Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.Ensure timely submission of quarterly and annual Revenue returns.Contribute to annual budgets, forecasts, and AGM financial reporting.Support interim and year-end audits, liaising with auditors and regulators as required.Promote continuous improvement, efficiency, and a culture of excellence within the finance team.Key CompetenciesStrong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative work style.Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and high ethical standards.Qualifications & ExperienceProfessional Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent).Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice or financial management role, ideally within a regulated environment.Additional InformationLocation: Head Office, WexfordHours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)Probation: 6-month minimum probationary periodRemuneration: Competitive, commensurate with experience and qualificationsSelection: Shortlisting may apply.
