JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: FITNESS & CLASS INSTRUCTOR (part-time)
REPORTING TO: ARENA MANAGEMENT
THE JOB:
Main Responsibilities:
Reporting to Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
· Organise, instruct, and manage fitness classes e.g., Spin, Circuit training, Bootcamp, Body Tone, Boxercise, and Pilates/Yoga.
· Responsible for the supervision of the gym and to offer instructions to members on the safe and appropriate use of equipment and machines.
· Carry out fitness assessments on members.
· Deal with members and the general public in a professional and appropriate manner.
· Assist in the promotion and advertising to students, staff, and the general public to ensure maximum membership is obtained.
· Report any defects with regards to exercise equipment and machines.
Evaluate, assess and co-ordinate the maintenance and service of all equipment and machines.
· Responsible for keeping appropriate records, and to safeguard and protect all the assets of the gym and high-performance gym at all times.
· Comply with all health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
· Responsible for ensuring that the gym and the high-performance gym are kept in a clean condition at all times.
· Front of house duties including receive, process, and manage all external/internal phone-calls and message, requests, queries, and bookings in a courteous, an efficient, accurate and prompt manner.
· Update and maintain the software database on a daily basis and ensure accurate data entry and efficient management of the database.
· Liaise with the Manager on a daily basis to provide support and assistance.
· To undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILL SET:
Academic Qualifications:
Essential – The successful candidate will have a Fitness & Sport related qualification.
Desirable – Trained in exercise classes, e.g., Spin, Circuit training, Bootcamp, Body Tone, Boxercise and Pilates/Yoga etc.
Reps Ireland Registered.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year's relevant experience in a fitness or class participation environment is required.
Personal Qualities: Be highly personable, energetic, and motivated.Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organisation skills are essential, with a proven ability to develop and implement high standards.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work evenings and weekends.
