Database Specialist Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Database Specialist to manage and optimize databases for performance, security, and reliability. This is a great opportunity for a talented individual to join our consultancy space on a short-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Database Management: Oversee the daily operation of databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and data integrity.
* Cloud Database Administration: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted databases, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) databases.
* Best Practices Implementation: Develop and enforce best practices for backup, recovery, and security to prevent data loss and ensure compliance.
* Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with developers to design and scale databases, documenting configurations and processes along the way.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of GCP databases, experience with DBA, Graph Databases, and Google Cloud Spanner, as well as proficiency in database monitoring and automation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of database systems and technologies.
