Our Projects
We are a key solution provider for achieving zero‑carbon goals, delivering renewable projects, carbon‑reduction initiatives, energy efficiency upgrades and improvements. Our Gas Networks design team is actively developing projects in biogas, carbon capture, hydrogen and biomethane for grid injection and transport, tackling complex technical challenges that require specialised engineering solutions.

The Role
Civil Project Design Engineer – REF: 2539a
The successful candidate will join an established team with senior support and have the opportunity to acquire a broad range of skills in design and project management. The role will develop essential engineering, communication and project delivery skills that are transferable across any engineering project.
Design of projects from the conceptual phase through to completion (e.g., energy projects including renewables, pipelines and installations – gas, oil, water or wastewater, industrial buildings & utilities).
Statutory requirements for new developments such as planning, fire certification and DAC applications, IPC licence requirements.
Building control compliance and design in accordance with building regulations.
Design of new and modification of existing gas and water installations.
Design requirements for energy projects such as solar, hydro, CHP and power stations.
Design of other energy infrastructure‑related projects.
The Civil Project Design Engineer will progress their career within Fingleton White, working across various business sectors and gaining experience on a wide range of projects. The role is based in our Galway office, but we will also consider applications for our Portlaoise office.
Requirements
Civil engineering degree (honours bachelor’s degree or higher)
5+ years post‑graduate relevant design experience
Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
Good academic record
Full clean driving licence and own transport required
Fluent written and spoken English is essential
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work independently or as part of a team
