About the Role
* Lead major rail projects, leveraging your commercial and contract experience, while managing a dedicated team within a global consultancy firm.
* Support the development of client relationships and drive the growth of our transportation team as we expand into Ireland.

Your Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct cost analysis, cost control, and cost reporting activities on projects and programmes.
2. Provide contract and procurement advice, setup activities, and post-contract management.
3. Manage NEC contracts, assess compensation events, review and agree defined cost, including targeted auditing where required.
4. Liaise with contractor and client counterparts on reporting, budgets, POs, invoicing, etc., and formally review and submit contractual changes and early warnings on behalf of the project team.
5. Analyse contractors' cost reports and extract required data for management reporting.
6. Prepare and report cost engineering information & reports on a monthly basis and additional ad-hoc reports as required by Management.
7. Manage supporting staff members where appropriate, e.g., Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
8. Produce the Application for Payment, including a critical review of time billed.
9. Action and lead queries on contracts and cost submissions from contractors, particularly in relation to two-stage D&B contracts.
10. Provide input and recommendations for cost engineering requirements.
11. Organise, monitor, and control project costs and define project needs for cost control in accordance with contractual requirements, objectives, and company procedures.
12. Complete final account/contract closure.
13. Review and analyse all claims and Change Orders on project contracts.
14. Review Early Warning Submissions.
Requirements
* Must be based out of Dublin or Cork (or surrounding areas).
* Commercial and cost planning skills and experience of delivering ideally within a cost consultancy.
* Demonstrated experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
* Previous experience of contract administration, particularly NEC contracts.
* Relevant experience working on transportation projects - ideally rail.
* Previous experience working with cost and contract management tools.
* Strong communication skills, including writing reports and presenting.
* Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, stakeholders, colleagues, and the supply chain.
* Able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work.
* Flexibility to travel to client sites and other offices.
