Senior Technical Specialist - Microbiology - Dublin - 12-Month Contract

One of our global pharmaceutical clients is looking for a Senior Technical Specialist to co-ordinate and oversee day to day lab operations and validation activities. Engineer to join their team in their new multifunctional facility.

Responsibilities as a Senior Technical Specialist (Microbiology):
1. Allocate and assign microbiology testing tasks.
2. Organise, schedule and coordinate routine day-to-day laboratory operations
3. Liaise effectively with external groups to ensure laboratory support is available as required and testing timelines are met.
4. Ensure adherence to lab testing schedules, applying Lean Lab methodology.
5. Ensures testing/data review are supported and that results are available within lead times.
6. Ensures projects are supported and completed as per project timelines. Anticipated delays should be escalated, with proposed solutions for resolution.
7. Author/provide leadership in the Laboratory/Contamination investigations using own initiative and with minimum supervision.
8. Coach and mentor the Laboratory Team.
Requirements as a Senior Technical Specialist (Microbiology):
9. Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred; ideally in Microbiology or a closely related discipline.
10. Strong knowledge in microbiology related lab test method methods e.g. Environmental Monitoring, Microbial Identifications, Bioburden testing, Endotoxin testing, Biological Indicator Testing, Absence of Contamination Testing (BacT), Growth Promotion/Sterility Testing.
11. Experience with New Product Introduction and Microbiology Method Validation experience.
12. Investigation experience.
13. Demonstrated project work.
14. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the Microbiology Pharmaceutical industry or a similar operating environment.
