Overview PM Group's OTS (Outsourced Technical Services) Department are currently seeking to recruit an Occupational Health Nurse to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of workers on a large construction site.
The OHN will play a key role in delivering proactive occupational health services, ensuring compliance with Irish health and safety legislation, and fostering a culture of wellbeing and resilience.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Health & Wellbeing Services Deliver weekly site inductions, including health and safety briefings.
Manage the Health & Wellbeing Cabin as a confidential and supportive space.
Conduct routine health surveillance (e.g., Blood Pressure, BMI, Blood Sugar) in line with HSA guidelines.
Provide approachable, empathetic support for mental health concerns.
Strategic Health Promotion Develop and distribute health communications across site platforms.
Lead health promotion campaigns aligned with the HSA's national health calendar.
Organise on-site health events, workshops, and awareness days.
Clinical & Operational Oversight Provide clinical supervision to on-site medics and first aiders.
Liaise with management and trades to support return-to-work and rehabilitation plans.
Maintain accurate, confidential health records in compliance with GDPR and HSA standards.
Mental Health Leadership Respond to critical incidents with immediate support and structured follow-up.
Act as Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) Lead, mentoring and coordinating the MHFA team.
Facilitate regular debriefs and produce a monthly mental health newsletter.
Community & Culture Building Participate in quarterly OHN meetups and peer learning sessions.
Promote access to external support services and charities.
Collaborate with EHS teams and trade representatives to promote a holistic safety culture.
Qualifications Qualifications: Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI registration.
Recognised Occupational Health Nursing qualification (prefered).
Minimum 2 years' experience in occupational health, ideally in construction or industrial settings.
Up-to-date Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification (mandatory).
Skills: Strong clinical and emergency response capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Leadership in mental health and wellbeing initiatives.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
