The Role
We're seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role requires availability for shifts including evenings, weekends, and busy periods.
You'll be an essential part of our kitchen operation, supporting our chefs and ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly during busy service periods across our restaurant, bar, and event operations.
Key Responsibilities
Dishwashing & Equipment Care
* Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely
* Wash, rinse, and sanitise dishes, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen equipment
* Ensure all items are properly cleaned and stored according to hygiene standards
* Maintain dishwashing area in clean and organized condition
Kitchen Support
* Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as directed
* Keep kitchen areas clean, sanitised, and well-organized
* Empty bins and manage waste disposal according to health and safety protocols
* Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, surfaces, and floors
Stock & Supply Management
* Receive and store deliveries in appropriate areas
* Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and kitchen essentials
* Organise storage areas and ensure proper stock rotation
* Report low stock levels to kitchen management
Health & Safety Compliance
* Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP training provided)
* Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions
* Maintain personal hygiene standards required in food service
* Report any safety hazards or equipment issues immediately
Team Collaboration
* Work effectively during high-pressure service periods
* Support kitchen team during events and busy dining periods
* Communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen staff
* Maintain positive attitude during demanding shifts
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
* Full-time availability including evenings, weekends, and busy periods
* Not suitable for students or those in education due to demanding schedule requirements
* Physical fitness and stamina for fast-paced kitchen environment
* Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance
* Willingness to learn and follow food safety procedures
Practical Requirements
* Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
* Comfortable working in hot, steamy kitchen conditions
* Basic English communication skills for safety and teamwork
* Eligible to work in Ireland
* Flexibility for varying shift patterns including split shifts
