Health and Safety Technical Lead
The role of Health and Safety Technical Lead is a pivotal one in our organization. As the primary point of contact for all health, safety, quality, environmental, and energy standards across the organization, you will play a key part in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Spearhead the deployment and execution of the health, safety, quality, environment, and energy (HSQE) strategy across the organization, working closely with regional managers and advisors to drive continuous improvement programmes and foster a culture that prioritizes safety above all else.
* Oversee the development and implementation of HSQE initiatives, projects, and programmes designed to improve our Safety Management System, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and address areas for improvement.
* Lead the coordination of action plans in response to non-compliances identified across business units, working closely with Regional Health & Safety Managers and teams to resolve these issues effectively.
* Collect, analyze, and report HSQE performance data, including KPIs, trends, incident/near-miss data, for senior stakeholders, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making.
* Sponsor the governance of safety frameworks, safety culture, leadership, and safety coach forums, driving best practice and ensuring that our approach to health and safety remains cutting-edge.
* Provide expert health and safety advice to functional areas, ensuring that relevant policies, procedures, and practices are implemented and embedded, and that our teams have the necessary tools and resources to perform their roles safely and effectively.
* Identify role-level and function-level HSQE needs in collaboration with business stakeholders, anticipating how future changes might impact those needs and developing strategies to mitigate any potential risks.
* Oversee accident/incident reporting and investigations, ensuring that induction, training, and policies are correctly applied, and that our teams learn from incidents to prevent reoccurrence.
* Maintain awareness of legislative and regulatory requirements and best practice in HSQE, ensuring that our organization remains compliant and ready for audits at all times.
* Lead, motivate, and develop Health and Safety Advisors and Coordinators, setting objectives, monitoring performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
