We operate a modern fleet (including refrigerated trailers, curtain-siders, skeletal trailers) and emphasise safety, reliability and customer service.
Role Overview As an HGV Driver at Mulligan Transport, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering goods across Ireland.
Youll operate trucks (rigid and/or articulated, depending on licence class), primarily in refrigerated or general haulage roles.
You may also assist with loading / unloading, perform basic vehicle checks, and maintain accurate delivery records.
Key Responsibilities Safely operate HGV vehicles in compliance with Irish road and transport laws (including tachograph rules, drivers hours, etc.) Deliver and collect consignments to/from customer sites, depots or terminals nationwide Drive refrigerated trucks when required, ensuring temperature-sensitive goods are handled correctly Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections (tyres, lights, brakes, etc.); report any defects Load, unload, secure and stow cargo appropriately (helping with pallet jacks, tail-lifts, straps, etc.) Maintain accurate delivery documentation (proof of delivery, logbooks, delivery notes, electronic systems) Interact professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and colleagues Adhere to all health & safety, compliance and company policies Assist with ad-hoc transport or logistics tasks when required Qualifications & Skills Valid Irish HGV licence (Class C or CE) Digital tachograph card Previous experience as an HGV driver (ideally in refrigerated or general haulage) Strong knowledge of road rules and drivers hours legislation in Ireland Good time-management and route-planning skills Ability to work independently and responsibly Physical fitness able to assist with loading/unloading Good communication and customer service skills Clean driving record, with no major endorsements Basic mechanical awareness / troubleshooting (preferred, but not essential) What We Offer Competitive salary and overtime / allowances Steady work with a reputable and growing Irish transport company Use of modern, well-maintained vehicles Fuel cards, travel allowances, or per diems (as applicable) Supportive work environment and clear routes of progression Opportunities to gain experience across refrigerated and general haulage operations
