The Director of Advocacy and Policy will play a crucial role in ensuring that the National SPCA is recognised as the leading voice for animal welfare in Ireland.
The role of the Director of Advocacy and Policy will be to engage with key stakeholders and the public to advocate for changes in government and public policy and legislation in order to make a meaningful difference to the welfare of animals of Ireland.
This is a unique opportunity for a passionate leader to make a lasting impact on the welfare and lives of animals in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Capable of monitoring trends and changes in the policy environment to inform strategic planning and decision making.
Communication, Influence and Relationship Building
Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills to connect with, and influence, diverse stakeholders.
Strong understanding of animal welfare policy, legislative and political environments.
Ability to use research, data and insights to inform advocacy positions and policy recommendations, ensuring that positions are authoritative, well-evidenced and impactful.
Experience and Education
Minimum of 5 years of experience in policy, advocacy or government relations.
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, in a related field.
