Keelings is hiring experienced Machine Operators for full-time roles in St. Margaret's, Co. Dublin.
Shift Pattern:
6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am
You will be expected to work all of the above shifts, rostered any 5 over 7, including weekends and nights depending on business requirements. There is a night premium and Sunday premium.
Main Responsibilities
Machine Operation
* Ensure the team works to achieve maximum efficiency based on the defined machine potential.
* Carry out changeovers according to roles, responsibilities, and formal processes.
* Set up packaging and printers to minimize downtime.
* Reconcile recorded units with physical production and escalate if necessary.
* Start and stop the line with the appropriate production run size.
* Select correct programs and input run size and weight checks.
* Validate calibration of scales at shift start and record accordingly.
* Check finished goods for quality and presentation during production.
* Ensure scales are tarred correctly before each run.
* Plan heating of sealing tools to minimize downtime.
* Perform spot checks on weights and record findings.
Packaging and Labels
* Ensure packaging is available before changeovers.
* Check supply levels and escalate shortages.
* Verify label samples and document them.
* Collect waste packaging in designated bins.
* Cross-check labels with raw materials for accuracy.
* Maintain samples of film/labels from each batch.
* Coordinate label collection and sign-off with the label room.
* Escalate unresolved issues to supervisors.
Safety and Hygiene
* Maintain a safe working environment and escalate issues.
* Uphold hygiene standards in packing areas and on machines.
* Ensure personal hygiene compliance among team members.
* Handle and pack products to meet specifications.
* Perform pre-operation checks on equipment/machinery.
* Report machine defects and stop lines if necessary.
* Ensure food safety, quality, and integrity in your tasks.
* Conduct or supervise Critical Control Point verification checks.
Communication
* Coordinate with FLT drivers for raw material availability.
* Conduct handovers to colleagues about machine issues.
* Work with QA to keep the area clear of finished goods.
* Inform FLT of packaging needs in advance.
* Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work floor.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Previous experience as a Machine Operator in manufacturing.
* Support and drive continuous improvement activities.
* Flexibility to meet business demands.
* Willingness to learn and work independently.
