Hours of work: 37.5 hours standard working week Night Shift core hour's 11:00pm - 07:00am Sun-fri or Mon-Sat 11:00pm - 07:00am Reporting to the Automation Manager, the role holder will play a key part within the United Drug Automation Team.
The purpose of this role is to ensure all automation systems up to and including Tier 2 complexity level systems are sustained to the highest operational and health and safety standards, through consistent upkeep, maintenance and repair of all automation systems and corresponding materials.
Tier 1 will take instruction from the Automation Manager and Automation specialists and Automation Technicians in relation to preventative maintenance/system improvements, specialised servicing.
What you will be doing: General and complex logic control conveyors Fully automated Picking machines Decant Stations Mass storage and retrieval systems SCS Carousel and Buffer, SMC, PCX, A Frame, Abba, Strappers, Invoice Stations, Transfer Stations, Tote Turner and Tote Lifts, Destackers, OSR Liaise daily with Automation Helpdesk ensuring works are completed in a timely manner and that all tasks are carried out to a high standard.
Respond to site specific emergency breakdowns promptly to reduce downtime including emergency response standby callout, following systematic root cause problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance in line with preventative maintenance schedule, completing all associated paperwork and records in line with GDP standards.
Carry out technical activities such as general electrical component replacement in accordance with HSA and United Drug Safety requirements.
Take ownership for spares and parts, liaising with parts suppliers to ensure necessary stock is available and appropriately located.
Identify and seek areas for personal and professional development as well as internal CI opportunities.
From time to time, you may be required to fulfil reasonable additional duties outside those listed above.
What you will need to succeed: QQI Level 6 Electrical Training (Desirable but not essential).
In-house Electrical Competency Level Tech 2 status (Desirable but not essential).
Ideally some experience carrying out maintenance on automated systems.
Good understanding of automation system installations and common fault-finding techniques.
Confident using computer systems.
At least 12 months' experience working in an automated distribution or production environment is essential, with hands-on experience in automation and facility systems such as A-Frame, Abba, Strappers, Invoice Stations, Transfer Stations, Tote Lifts, and Destackers (among others).
Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
Able to work well both independently and as part of a team in a busy, regulated environment.
Flexible with working hours to meet service and production needs or adapt to business changes.
