Role : Business Development Manager Location : Ireland and Northern Ireland Employment Type : Full-time, Permanent, On road My client is one of the country's leading home heating oil, commercial fuel, and agricultural diesel suppliers, in addition to other business divisions including retail forecourts, fuel card services and lubricants.
They are looking for a business development manager to join their sales team.
This position is full-time, field based and is suited to someone who will relish the challenge of selling Premium Brands in a highly competitive environment.
A successful candidate must have a passion for customer service and an unwavering persistence in chasing new business and exceeding targets.

Role overview To achieve sales targets through proactive business development, covering several industrial lubricant sectors.
To grow the customer base and develop long-term satisfactory relationships with all customers, focusing on customer delivery and margin.
The role is empowered and has the freedom to contact and develop relationships with customers and prospects and develop added value propositions within sales policy guidelines.
Responsibilities Proactively selling to existing valued customer base in designated territory.
Targeting of new customers, developing and maintaining long term mutually beneficial relationships.
Ensuring high retention levels of retention by delivering exceptional customer service.
Identifying leads, qualifying prospects, developing and delivering compelling value-added offers.
Using initiative to uncover customer needs and find innovative solutions.
Achieving debtor day collection targets.
Reporting regularly to your manager around designated KPIs, including pipeline and prospects.
Participating actively in internal meetings and training provided by external providers, supplier partners and colleagues.
Ensuring full compliance will all company policies and procedures including HR, IT and HSE policies.
Qualifications/ experience Third Level Qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Marketing, or related discipline, or Industry is desirable.
Accreditation or Experience selling a premium brand in the Industrial space.
5 years' sales and customer relationship management experience with a proven track record in achieving new sales and margin growth and new business development in the Industrial space.
Knowledge of Lubricants is desirable but not essential.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
A full Driving Licence is essential.
Competencies / Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills both face to face and virtually.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work individually as well as part of the wider team.
An understanding of the lubricants market, the key players, and applications.
Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative.
Agile and adaptable - can work in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment under tight deadlines.
Great organisational skills with ability to balance tactical work with strategic thinking, plan and prioritise.
