Role Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee daily hotel operations, coordinating multiple departments to deliver exceptional service, maintain high standards, and drive profitability. This is a senior, hands-on role reporting to the Group Manager and working with department heads to manage front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance, events, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee daily operations, including front desk, housekeeping, Harper's Restaurant, bar, conference and banquet operations.
· Ensure exceptional guest experience, from check-in to check-out, addressing concerns promptly and maintaining service consistency.
· Lead and coach department teams, fostering a positive culture that upholds genuine Donegal hospitality and hotel-keeping ethos
· Manage budgets and cost control, monitor P&L performance, track KPIs (e.g., occupancy, RevPAR, guest satisfaction), and recommend operational improvements.
· Maintain health, safety, and compliance standards, including local regulations and internal policies.
· Coordinate facilities management, ensuring rooms, public areas, and banquet suites are maintained to the hotel's high standards.
· Support event and banquet operations, collaborating on weddings, conferences, and seasonal functions.
· Manage inventory and supplies, working with suppliers and implementing streamlined ordering and cost-control systems.
· Utilise hotel management software and analytics tools for reporting and operational efficiency enhancements.
Qualifications & Skills
· Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or equivalent preferred.
· Minimum 3–5 years of hotel operations management experience, preferably in a 4 Star environment with banquet/event exposure.
· Strong leadership, communication, and team-management abilities.
· Proven financial and analytical skills, with budget-control experience.
· Competence with PMS/booking systems and MS Office suite.
· Excellent problem-solving mindset, flexible, and guest-service oriented.
· Commitment to high standards of service and operations excellence.
· Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and busy seasonal periods.
