Overview:
PFH Technology is partnering directly with a Dublin-based client who seeks a
Disaster Recovery Specialist
to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide disaster recovery strategies and frameworks that ensure the continuity of critical business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain a
comprehensive Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan
covering critical systems, infrastructure, and networks.
* Conduct
risk assessments
and
business impact analyses (BIA)
to determine critical ICT services and prioritize recovery needs.
* Lead the
design, implementation, and maintenance
of DR environments and components.
* Plan and execute
disaster recovery testing
including Tabletop, Simulation, Parallel, and Full-Interruption exercises.
* Oversee
continuous improvement
of DR plans based on test results and operational changes.
* Collaborate with business and system owners to define
Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs)
and
Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs)
.
* Ensure DR frameworks comply with
ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ITIL
, and regulatory standards.
* Manage
vendor relationships
with DR service providers, ensuring effective service delivery.
* Maintain all DR documentation, playbooks, and technical recovery procedures.
* Serve as the
subject matter expert (SME)
on disaster recovery, resilience, and IT continuity best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience
designing and implementing Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP)
in complex enterprise environments.
* Strong understanding of
current DR planning techniques
, frameworks, and testing methodologies.
* Hands-on experience with
DRP tools/software
,
backup & recovery systems
, and
offsite replication solutions
.
* Experience planning for
both natural disasters and cyber incidents
(e.g., ransomware, data breaches, infrastructure outages).
* Familiarity with
cloud recovery, hybrid DR architecture
, and
virtualized environments
.
* Strong
vendor management
experience with external DR and hosting providers.
* Proven ability to develop
risk-based DR standards, processes, and procedures
.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with cross-functional teams.
Industry & Regulatory Knowledge:
* Practical experience applying:
* ISO Information Security Management)
* ISO Business Continuity Management)
* ITIL v3/v4 Frameworks
* DRI International (DRII)
or
Business Continuity Institute (BCI)
professional practices
* Familiarity with
regulated environments
such as financial services, government, or critical infrastructure.
Education & Certifications:
Education:
* Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science
, Information Systems, Cybersecurity
, or a related field.
* Minimum
4 years of experience
in a disaster recovery, IT resilience, or business continuity role.
