OverviewSt. Joseph\'s Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968 the Foundation has grown through continuously responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. The Foundation provides services to children and adults, through day services, residential, respite care, and home support in the North Cork and South West Limerick region. We have day and residential services in various locations in the North Cork and South Limerick area; such as Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant, Newmarket, Mitchelstown and Mallow, in Limerick; Ballylanders, Ballyagran, Bruree, Bruff Croom Dromcollogher, Granagh Kilmallock, and Liskennett.St. Joseph\'s Foundation is a lead agency in Cork Kerry Community Healthcare for the North West Cork and the North East Cork Children\'s Disability Network Teams. These teams have been formed under the National Progressing Disability Services Scheme and will be based in Mallow and Fermoy.Job Title and TypePermanent posts in full-time, part-time and locum capacities within Residential Services.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidates will have:A qualification in Nursing and registration with An Bord Altranais (R.N.I.D. qualification desirable).The ability to work on their own initiative and supervise service users and staff.Experience in managing behaviour which challenges.Application and EnquiriesInformal enquiries to the Catherine O\'Connell (Head of Client Services) at 063 89252.NotesA full Irish/EU Driving Licence and indemnification of the Foundation on your car insurance policy is a requirement of the posts.Job DetailsJOB TITLE: Staff NurseREPORTING RELATIONSHIP: CNM1, CNM2, Person In Charge (PIC), Area ManagerACCEPTS REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS FROM: Volunteers, staff as assignedLIAISE WITH: All staff in Adult/Children\'s Services and Multidisciplinary TeamINITIAL HOURLY: As per contractCOMMITMENT: Residential Services (up to 37.5 hours per week)INITIAL ASSIGNMENT: Rostered duty including 7/14 duty in accordance with the rosters and mobility programme operated by the serviceLOCATION: South LimerickJOB GOAL: To listen to, learn from, support and work to achieve the priorities of the service users and to monitor and meet their physical/mental/social/emotional and behavioural needs in compliance with the Health Care Act 2007 and related regulationsMain ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the general well-being of service users in careProvide care of a physical, psychological and social nature for service usersRecognize and report physical/social/emotional problems and assist in implementing programmes to counteract themDeliver care in a professional manner and in line with HIQA requirements in a residential settingSet care for the day-to-day needs of residents in compliance with the Health Care Act 2007 and related regulationsFoster parental/family involvement and liaise with parents/guardians/family members; ensure visitors are welcomed and treated with courtesyCreate and maintain a therapeutic environment and ensure programmes relate to individual strengths and needsIncorporate the expertise of others to enhance careDesign, implement and coordinate programmes in education, training and work; liaise with Line Manager/PIC regarding work opportunities for service usersFoster integration and provide social/leisure opportunities within the local communityMaintain records and reports (e.g., Drug administration, Daily progress, Nursing notes, Psychiatry Review Reports)Be familiar with other nursing programmes within adult/children\'s services and provide support/relief as requested by PIC/Area Manager/Head of Client ServicesResponsible for purchasing and budgeting household monies and local purchasesEstablish and maintain respectful, empowering relationships with residentsLeadershipManage, develop and support staff, including induction, supervision and training in line with Foundation practicesLead and develop team members in support of Person Centred Plans and problem-solvingConduct goal setting and development with staffLiaise with multidisciplinary team and attend meetings as requiredConvene and attend review meetings of individuals\' progressContribute to overall nursing input within the FoundationEnsure staff adhere to Foundation Policies and ProceduresDevelop and maintain effective communication with residents, colleagues, families and stakeholdersPromote dignity at work and respect in all dutiesHold supervision meetings with staff as directed by the PICEnsure staff establish relationships with residents based on respect and equality and promote independenceGeneralPromote a positive and respectful awareness of learning disability in the communityBe familiar with developments in intellectual disabilities/HIQA standards and relevant guidelines/policiesAct as a Key Worker for service users as requiredYou are required to drive Foundations Transport (minibus) and will receive training; you must have a full clean driving licence and indemnify the Foundation on your motor insurance policy.
