Job Title: Nursery Assistant Location: Scribbles Day Nursery, Taughmonagh Hours: 37.5 hours per week Reports To: Scribbles Day Nursery Manager Closing Date for Applications: 10th September Role Summary We are looking for a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join our team at Scribbles Day Nursery. In this role, you will support the Unit Head in the daily operation of the nursery, fostering a positive environment that promotes the wellbeing and development of children. This position requires a commitment to complete a Level 3 Transition Play Work course. Key Responsibilities Supervise and care for children in the unit. Support the Unit Head in planning and delivering play activities and programs. Build secure and nurturing relationships to encourage childrens social, emotional, and creative growth. Attend to children's physical care and personal hygiene needs. Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families at all times. Participate in training, meetings, and supervisory sessions as required. Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and maintain a hygienic and safe environment. Report any accidents or incidents involving children to the Day Nursery Manager immediately. Prepare, maintain, and tidy rooms, materials, and equipment as needed. Actively participate in the nurserys Key Worker system and relevant observations. Adhere to Scribbles Day Nurserys policies, procedures, and all relevant legislation. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Nursery Manager. Essential Criteria Qualifications/Experience: NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education. Experience working with children aged 0-4 years. Knowledge: Understanding of childrens development and needs (physical, social, educational, and emotional). Awareness of childrens rights. Skills & Abilities: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication with children and parents/carers. Personal Attributes: Genuine interest and motivation to work with children. Other Requirements: Willingness to work flexible hours, including unsocial hours when necessary.
