About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior / Part-Qualified Accountant to join an established finance team and support all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager, contributing to accurate financial management, compliance, and the smooth operation of day-to-day finance processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing finance professional to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and growing engineering and construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
* Support the preparation and filing of VAT returns and assist with other compliance-related activities.
* Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and internal management reporting to support decision-making.
* Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, supplier accounts, and customer accounts.
* Support process improvements and the implementation of finance systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
* Assist with ad hoc finance projects and provide general accounting support to the finance team.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA) or recently qualified with relevant experience.
* Previous experience in accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, or general ledger management is desirable.
* Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
* Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software; ERP experience is an advantage.
