The National Concert Hall (NCH) has proudly served the Irish public since it opened in 1981.
Hosting over 1,000 events annually, the NCH is home to National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, National Symphony Chorus Ireland, NCH Cór Linn, and NCH Cór na nÓg, and promotes an exciting NCH Discover programme that reaches audiences of all ages across Ireland.
We are currently undertaking an ambitious redevelopment to create a vibrant cultural campus in the heart of our capital city - featuring world-class performance spaces, a strong commitment to inclusivity, and the restoration of an iconic building.THE POSITIONReporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and a key member of the leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a critical role in providing strategic oversight and support to the Redevelopment project, IT, Strategic Projects, and the operational activities across all departments.The COO will play a central role in the delivery of a wide-reaching Redevelopment Programme, while ensuring continued operational effectiveness and efficiency, as our home on Earlsfort Terrace is redeveloped into an internationally recognised cultural centre and world-class public amenity for musicians, artists, audiences and visitors.As the largest ever redevelopment of a national cultural institution in Ireland, this will include the relocation of the NCH team to temporary accommodation and the delivery of a business continuity plan to maintain an engaging programme of performances and outreach activities throughout the construction period.
Central to the role will be the effective monitoring of the NCH redevelopment project and the supervision of programme costs, ensuring key milestones are met within the funding structure.REQUIREMENTSSuitably qualified and interested candidates will be operating at COO or an appropriate senior management level, and have an exemplary track record of operational leadership, team management, and business transformation or large-scale change/project management, ideally within a medium to large-sized organisation.
In addition, they will possess proven experience in operations, IT and procurement within the public sector and have a sound knowledge of developing compliance processes and structures.
