RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.
We are hiring a
ConsultantPsychiatrist
for a leading Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week)
Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric services to patients and residents in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational policies.
Support the development and implementation of clinical governance frameworks, operational objectives, and strategic service plans.
Work collaboratively with senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective coordination and integration of clinical services.
Lead and support clinical teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while promoting positive patient and resident outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, legislation, quality standards, and best practice guidelines, including care planning and medication management requirements.
Drive service improvement initiatives through quality improvement projects, audits, service evaluations, and implementation of national recommendations and standards.
Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with internal teams, external healthcare partners, academic institutions, and regulatory bodies.
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant management of statutory and clinical information requirements, including data protection and reporting obligations.
Promote continuous professional development, teaching, research, and training activities in line with organisational and academic objectives.
Maintain high standards of clinical effectiveness, patient safety, leadership, and professional competence while contributing to workforce planning and service sustainability.
Requirements
Full registration in the Specialist Register (Psychiatry) maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland, or eligibility for registration
Registration as a General Adult Psychiatrist with a sub-specialist interest in Psychiatry of Later Life or Neuropsychiatry is desirable
Previous management-level experience or additional leadership responsibilities within a clinical setting
Proven ability to lead change initiatives and support the development of clinical services
Strong clinical experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Clinical Governance principles and practices
Demonstrated teaching, mentoring, and leadership skills across medical, nursing, and allied healthcare professionals
Commitment to supporting education, training, and professional development initiatives
Good knowledge of health and safety standards and relevant statutory regulations within healthcare settings
Ability to fulfil contracted hours and participate in an on-call rota as required
