My client, a highly regarded Irish business based in Louth, is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant. You will be a recently qualified accountant (although part-qualified may be considered if you possess suitable experience) looking to build on your experience, or potentially a first mover from practice looking for a first step into industry. You will ideally have 3+ years relevant hands-on accounting experience within a medium sized business (manufacturing would be beneficial but not essential), or have trained in a varied hands-on accounting role in a small-medium sized firm or potentially an Outsourced Accounting / Accounting department of a larger firm. There is a strong team in place and you will report to a supportive Financial Controller. Job Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for the production of timely, accurate weekly and monthly financial reports Preparation of high-quality monthly management accounts. Cash flow analysis. Reconciliation of the balance sheet at each month end. Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, VIES etc.) Responsible AP and support AR as required Oversee payroll. Support the forecasting and budgeting processes. Assist in the preparation for the annual audit. Assisting the Head of Finance with ad hoc projects: Assisting with the management of controls and risks. Required Education, Skills and Qualifications Qualified Accountant, although a Part-Qualified or Accounting Technician would be considered if they meet the experience requirements Ideally with 3+ years relevant experience within a varied finance role in an SME business. A first mover from practice will be considered providing they have gained strong accounting and tax experience (not only audit), with a medium sized firm or outsourced accounting department of a larger firm. Excellent analytical skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Previous experience with ERP systems advantageous but not essential. Experience working within a manufacturing business or with manufacturing clients if in practice, would be beneficial.
