Job Title: Junior Process Engineer
Location: Kildare, Ireland (on-site)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a passion for data analysis, problem-solving, and applying logical reasoning to process improvements. The successful candidate will support process optimization initiatives through data-driven insights and help in identifying areas for efficiency improvements across our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, analyse, and interpret process data from various systems to identify trends, inefficiencies, root causes and potential areas for improvement.
* Problem-Solving: Apply critical thinking and logical reasoning to evaluate current processes, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
* Process Improvement: Assist senior engineers in designing and implementing process improvements using data analytics and performance metrics.
* Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and process efficiency, providing insights and reports to management for informed decision-making.
* Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. production, IT, Customer service) to gather input, validate findings, and develop action plans for process enhancements.
* Automation & Technology Support: Assist in identifying opportunities for automation or the use of new technologies to improve data collection, reporting, and process control.
* Documentation & Reporting: Prepare clear and concise reports, process flow diagrams, Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and presentations to communicate findings and proposed solutions.
* Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends in process engineering, data analytics, and industry best practices to contribute fresh ideas to the team.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
* Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse large datasets and use statistical methods to derive actionable insights.
* Problem-Solving: Excellent critical thinking and logical reasoning skills, with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems systematically.
* Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with data analysis tools (MS Excel, Power BI) and process mapping (MS Visio), process simulation software is a plus.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical findings into clear recommendations.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data handling and reporting with the ability to sense check as you go.
* Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with different teams while managing multiple tasks effectively.
* Adaptability: Open to learning and applying new techniques, technologies and methodologies in a fast-paced environment, an enthusiastic approach to ‘figuring out’ and improving.
Preferred Experience (not essential):
* Internship or project experience related to process engineering, manufacturing, or data analytics.
* Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
