Our client is an Irish, family-owned fresh food company established more than 30 years ago who specialise in both traded and value-add fresh food products. They have a number of locations around Munster employing over 60 people with a turnover of approximately €50 million. They are a premium end of the market food business leading the way in terms of new modern facilities and GMP standards.
The Role
The Evening Shift Production Supervisor will assist with supervising, directing, and coordinating production-related activity during the evening shift as directed by the Production and Operations Manager. The Evening Shift Supervisor is a key member of the team and will provide leadership to the evening production team by fostering an environment of trust and open communications, developing future talent, and ensuring achievement of production safety and quality. Responsibilities will be to help ensure that the evening production process flows smoothly and that all shift-specific production goals are met.
Responsibilities
The Evening Shift Production Supervisor shall be responsible for the quality and quantity of product produced during their shift, including but not limited to:
* Achievement of stated production targets during the evening shift
* Coordinating processes and people involved in the production, storage, refrigeration, and loading of products manufactured on their shift
* Reporting all work-related injuries and equipment failures immediately to the manager
* Assisting in the training, scheduling, and staffing of the evening shift
* Upholding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company rules, policies, procedures, Quality Control standards, regulations, and EPA guidelines
* Overseeing start-up, finish-up, and clean-up of the shift
* Maintaining and troubleshooting production and packaging issues, coordinating with Maintenance, Quality, or Inventory departments as needed
Requirements
* 3+ years production line experience from the food or pharma industries, ideally within a GMP environment
* Working knowledge of certified environmental management systems and accreditations (e.g., ISO 14001, Origin Green, Repak)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organisational and people leadership skills
* In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
* Experience in conducting environmental and system audits
* Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Ability to work under pressure and meet realistic targets and deadlines
* Keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach

Remuneration
