Our client, a leading global bank is seeking a Payments Application Support Engineer with a strong passion for Production Support and an interest in building a long-term career within a fast-growing and highly reputable financial institution.The successful candidate will join a global production support team responsible for critical payment and fintech applications running across Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments, with an increasing focus on cloud-native platforms and API-driven architectures. This role offers hands-on exposure to a broad range of fintech technologies, primarily supporting release and production environments.This position reports to the Director of Production Support.Role ObjectivesProvide production and release support for a wide range of fintech applications and platformsImplement automation solutions, cloud-based monitoring, and preventative controls for recurring issuesManage application configuration and deployment, incident resolution, and business user requestsCommunicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersParticipate in rotational on-call and occasional weekend supportQualifications & SkillsExperience in a similar Application Support / Production Support role OR a recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineStrong understanding of Linux operating systems and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)Solid knowledge of API technologies, including RESTful and GraphQL APIsFamiliarity with shared services platforms and API gateways (e.g. Google Apigee)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated, disciplined, and proactive approach to learning and problem-solvingAbility to work effectively within a team and demonstrate leadership when requiredStrong sense of personal accountability, ownership, and task prioritisation3–5 years of relevant experience is highly desirableTechnical Experience (Highly Desirable)Experience working with the Google Apigee suite, including:DrupalNginxApache Qpid, ZooKeeper, CassandraPostgreSQLScripting experience with Shell, Python, Perl, JavaScript, or PowerShellExperience building or using automation tools and scriptsKnowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Exposure to CI/CD pipelinesTools & Technologies (Highly Desirable)Google Apigee SuiteOneSpan RA / OASSplunkEGIR360IBM RFT / Microsoft Playwright
