On behalf of our clients in the construction sector, we are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Senior Civil Engineer to take a lead role within their project development and pre-construction team. Key Responsibilities
Lead the review and interpretation of complex construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation at pre-construction stage, including preparation of technical submittals.
Produce and oversee detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and design take-offs using AutoCAD or similar software.
Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, engineers, and contractors, providing clear and solutions-focused technical support.
Lead the development of bespoke precast chamber and civil engineering designs, ensuring solutions are practical, compliant, and cost-effective.
Work closely with sales and production teams to align engineering outputs with project requirements, commercial objectives, and production capacity.
Conduct and oversee site inspections, ensuring compliance with Irish, British, and European standards.
Identify and resolve design or constructability issues early in the project lifecycle.
Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.
Contribute to continuous improvement of pre-construction processes, workflows, and engineering standards.
Support tender submissions, pricing reviews, and client presentations where required.
Requirements
Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Proven experience in civil engineering or construction; precast concrete, utilities, or civil infrastructure experience is an advantage.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (essential); Revit, Civil 3D, or similar software is beneficial.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications accurately.
Experience with site inspections and compliance with industry standards.
Understanding of construction methods and heavy plant/equipment application.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of Irish construction regulations and standards.
Full driving licence and valid Safe Pass.
