Job OverviewThe Senior Blockchain Engineer at Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP) will lead backend Java development for enterprise‑grade web applications leveraging blockchain technology.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with team members on implementation approaches for web applications utilizing blockchain technology.Own and deliver functional scope end‑to‑end of blockchain‑enabled applications, meeting quality standards.Resolve solution engineering challenges to meet stakeholder requirements and expectations.Apply best practices and design patterns for enterprise web and web3 applications.Use collaborative tools to manage and deliver work in a distributed team.Maintain technical documentation for code and applications built and maintained.Communicate effectively in a distributed team and contribute to team success.Escalate and resolve issues to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with quality.Qualifications / ExperienceBachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering; MS or PhD in computer science is a plus.7–10 years of end‑to‑end software development and testing lifecycle experience; financial services experience is a plus.5–7 years of backend Java Spring development experience.1–3 years of web3 application development experience is a plus.1–3 years of experience with asynchronous programming and communication in web applications.Expertise in building reliable, scalable, high‑performance web applications using best practices and patterns.Familiarity with Web3J, Web3JS, Solidity code, and DevOps containerization is a plus.Experience with Agile methodology and Scrum is a plus.Competencies & SkillsStrong team player able to communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders at all levels and have a start‑up mindset.Proven track record of delivering high‑quality, complex commercial software products.Strong engineering fundamentals: testing, code reviews, clean code structure, and maintainability.Hands‑on full‑stack development building enterprise‑grade web applications.Excellent command of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns, applied to elegant code.In-depth knowledge of deployment and management controls using tools such as Git, Jira, Jenkins, Helm Charts, etc.Development ValueWork with a global, highly motivated engineering team on cutting‑edge digital asset platforms, gaining exposure to new technologies, business strategies, and senior leadership within Citi.Salary and LocationFull‑time, €85,600.00 – €128,400.00 per year. Base salary reviewed annually.
