Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist.
Overview:
The role of the EHS Specialist is to support the development and monitoring of environmental, health, and safety systems at a chemical production facility in Laois. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative regulations, supporting the evolution of the site's EHSS integrated management system, and conducting risk assessments and inspections.
Responsibilities:
• Support the development and monitoring of environmental, health, and safety systems
• Conduct risk assessments and inspections
• Develop and implement associated risk controls where appropriate
• Increase safety awareness among staff through promotion, training, and working with departmental managers
• Conduct internal assessments and recommend corrective or preventative measures
• Support EHS projects to completion
• Participate in accident investigations and incident prevention opportunities
• Develop, establish, and conduct related training programs in environmental, health, and safety practices
• Create and update EHS programs/procedures as necessary
• Possess relevant 3rd level qualification ideally in Environmental Science or another relevant discipline
• Relevant experience preferably within manufacturing environments, preferably pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, medical device manufacturing, or chemical manufacturing
• Self-motivated with excellent organisational and time management skills
• Compliance mindset regarding company and legal requirements
