The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a
Junior Electrical Engineer
to join a growing engineering team. This role is ideally suited to an engineer with a strong academic background and up to two years of industry experience who is keen to develop their technical expertise and progress their career.
You will work closely with senior engineers and project teams, gaining hands-on exposure to electrical design, site activities, and project delivery across a broad range of sectors including energy, utilities, renewables, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Support senior engineers across electrical design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities
* Assist in the preparation of electrical drawings, layouts, calculations, specifications, and technical reports
* Contribute to project delivery through planning support, coordination, and technical problem-solving
* Ensure work is carried out in line with relevant electrical standards, regulations, and client requirements
* Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation and records
* Support quality assurance processes and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards
* Attend site visits to assist with surveys, inspections, testing, and resolving technical queries
* Continuously develop technical knowledge through training, mentoring, and on-the-job learning
Requirements
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (essential)
* Up to 2 years' relevant experience (including graduate, placement, or early-career roles)
* Exposure to electrical systems within energy, utilities, construction, industrial, or infrastructure environments
* Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
* Experience with AutoCAD, EPlan, or similar engineering software (desirable)
* Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills
* Eagerness to learn and develop under the guidance of senior engineers
* Interest in renewables, sustainability, and modern electrical technologies
* Knowledge of BIM workflows and digital tools is an advantage
* Full driving licence (desirable)
