We are looking for a SHEQ Manager to join our growing team in Clonshaugh. This role will be site-based with travel across the Island of Ireland. The SHEQ function involves providing competence advice and assurance around Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Wellbeing, and IMS compliance.
As the SHEQ Manager, you will partner with site operational teams and your Head of SHEQ to implement and manage Gist’s IMS and SHEQ strategy. You will also have the opportunity to innovate, seek continuous improvement, and foster a culture of excellence across all designated sites.

Role details:
Hours: 37.5 per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Salary: €65,000 – €72,000 DOE
Location: Clonshaugh, with travel across Ireland
What you’ll do:
* Partner with the General Manager on all SHEQ matters related to your sites, including local stakeholders and suppliers
* Provide competent Health, Safety, and Environmental advice to ensure legal and IMS compliance
* Implement SHEQ strategy in collaboration with operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
* Conduct SHEQ audits and inspections
* Mentor and coach managers for SHEQ compliance and improvement, including weekly inspections
* Manage training requirements to ensure effective delivery
* Handle local insurance claims
* Act as primary contact for external agencies, ensuring regulatory compliance
Additional responsibilities:
* Provide SHEQ guidance to other business areas as directed
* Stay updated on regulatory developments, industry trends, and SHEQ best practices
Who you are:
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, and member of IOSH or similar
* Experience in health and safety management within medium/high-risk industries
* Knowledge of logistics/distribution sector and materials handling equipment
* Experience in incident management and investigation
Desirable qualifications:
* Environmental assessment certification
* Internal auditor experience
* Mental Health First Aider qualification
* Facilities or engineering safety knowledge
* ISO standards knowledge and working towards lead auditor status
* Chartered IOSH membership or working towards it
