Responsibilities
Lead multiple teams in designing, implementing, and owning high and low level system components to make Aurora Database highly available, scalable, reliable and fast.
Hire, build and mentor your team; harmonize operational responsibilities with innovation.
Translate high-level technical requirements into executable project plans and drive delivery.
Collaborate with product and program management to define and deliver software features and architecture.
Lead engineering efforts in distributed systems, query processing and optimization, concurrency, and performance engineering.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
Experience in engineering team management.
Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
Several years of hands-on experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
Experience in recruiting, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of software engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
