Program Manager M/F

What you do

* Ability to manage and deliver multiple complex IT programs of work in parallel, responsible for business benefit realisation at program level and ensuring company strategic goals are delivered.
* Defined life cycle and milestones: map and define phases, deliverables, key milestones and sufficiency criteria for each stage in the project lifecycle.
* Stable requirements and scope: requirements, objectives and scope are documented and stabilized.
* Defined organization, systems, and roles: establish project charters, with clearly defined structures and roles for all involved.
* Quality assurance: establish and meet agreed commitments with a constant eye for improvement, ensuring clarity on standards and criteria set in each phase.
* Planned commitments: planning, scheduling, resource allocation, staffing, and budgeting.
* Scope and mission: define project boundaries, establish goals and objectives, ensuring a clear business case for decision making.
* Scheduling: capacity planning and evaluation, evaluation of activity sequences and duration plus resource requirements to create the project schedule.
* Budgeting: development of an overall cost estimate based on individual work items to be used as a cost baseline for measuring project performance.
* Personnel: determine recruitment, selection & training of project team members.
* Evaluation and control: provide a complete and transparent picture of the project’s progress.
* Risk and problems: systematically identify, assess and manage risks, issues, assumptions and decisions, being proactive for possible disruptive events.
* Quality: ensure delivered products meet expectations.


Strategy alignment

* Ensure alignment with strategic planning process so all programs align with the overall business strategy.
* Engage with business leaders on strategic program planning and prioritisation of initiatives, collaborating with the Strategic Project Office to ensure successful delivery of company strategy.


Project Methodologies

* Insure project methodologies (Agile), project delivery processes, and implementation management processes are followed.


Stakeholder Engagement

* Engage with executive level stakeholders across the business.
* Foster strong working relationships with business sponsors, key stakeholders, business analysis, development & testing teams.


Communication

* Provide clear and concise program communication; both written and verbal, often communicating with company executives regarding the status of programs and delivery of related business outcomes.


Team Leadership

* Foster a positive, open and supportive leadership team within OM.
* Promote OM team spirit.
* Derive and implement activities to support team motivation and engagement.
* Build a team of highly capable professionals that are empowered and self-sufficient.


Team Management

* Attract and hire top talent.
* Benchmark and standardise team objectives & measures.
* Maximise the potential of all team members, dedicating time to focus on development plans for high potentials in the team.
* Strengthen consequence management to address any lower‑than‑expected performance & handle it in a way that doesn't negatively impact team spirit / morale / reputation.


Team Ambassador

* Represent OM across the business; proactively engaging, facilitating workshops, sharing knowledge, and providing advice in terms of the most effective use of technology to support delivery of the business's strategic ambitions.
* Working with peers, proactively lead development of the OM team and its objectives.


Travel

* Some (on occasions significant) travel will be required for this role to support the needs of the business.

What you bring

* 15+ years of experience, running multiple complex programs of work.
* Educated to degree level.
* Knowledge of Financial Services / Insurance industry sector.
* Demonstrate experience of both waterfall and agile project delivery.
* Project Management Training such as PMI – a distinct advantage.
* Top‑Tier Consulting experience – a distinct advantage.
