Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Commercial Finance Business Partner will support the commercial team in delivering targets across volume, pricing, and profitability for key retail customers. The role acts as a critical link between Finance and Commercial, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making and optimise customer profitability and sales growth. You will also deliver clear performance insights to the leadership team, including analysis against budget and key retailer trends.Key Responsibilities1. Planning & ForecastingLead financial inputs into the annual planning and budgeting cycleSupport budgeting by tracking key retailer metrics:Average Selling Price (ASP)VolumeDocument and validate key assumptions (e.g., pricing, volume changes)Provide variance analysis with clear, actionable commentarySupport re-forecasting throughout the year as required2. Customer & Product ProfitabilityOwn and develop customer P&Ls to enhance visibility of profitabilityBuild dashboards and tools to improve clarity on monthly performanceIdentify growth opportunities through pricing, product mix, and promotionsMonitor customer-specific costs, highlighting risks and trendsAlign inflation assumptions and incorporate them into pricing strategiesTrack and report retailer margins against the 3.5% target3. Costing & Commercial AnalysisPack size adjustmentsNew product launches/listingsInvestigate key variances and areas of concernPartner with Management Accounts on product costing accuracyIdentify and recommend cost-saving opportunitiesProvide financial analysis to support customer negotiationsModel scenarios, assess risks, and recommend optimal strategiesEnsure decisions align with profitability targets and business objectives4. Strategic Planning & AgreementsSupport long-term business planning, including:Volume forecastingPromotional planningAssist with long-term retailer agreements:Tracking revisions and timelinesStrong relationship-building across commercial, supply chain, and finance teamsAbility to act as a trusted advisor to Commercial leadershipDrives a culture of accountability and data-led decision-makingStrong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex dataExperience & QualificationsQualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)Experience in FMCG, ideally fresh produceProven Commercial Finance experienceStrong analytical and financial modelling skillsDeep understanding of:P&LsPromotional mechanicsConfident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
