We invest in our employees and build relationships that last.Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Construction Engineer in the Southeast region of Ohio.Responsibilities include:Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff membersDeveloping and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and proceduresReviewing programs for conformance with client and industry standardsWorking with county and/or municipal governments and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT)Leading a project team through construction administration, funding coordination and construction inspectionCoordinating team operations with the Department Manager or Business Unit Leader.Keeping up-to-date with relevant technical and management issues related to construction inspectionDeveloping business opportunitiesManaging/mentoring staffVerifying quality and completeness of workProviding workload projections and resources to project managers, department managers or business until leadersMonitoring staff in project management services...data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to soil density, concrete, asphalt, and earthworkServing as an on-site project representativeVerifying conformance with contract documents, QA/QC, and applicable standardsResolving and responding to field issuesSome travel and a valid driver's license will be required.The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering from an accredited college or university and at least four (4) years of experience.
