The successful candidate will be a strong leader, problem solver and role model, ensuring departmental objectives are achieved while building productive relationships with suppliers, customers and logistics partners.
Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee the activities of the Purchasing and Stores team in Hangar 2.
* Manage, support, and supervise all materials-related functions and processes.
* Allocate and prioritise workloads effectively.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing performance management for the team.
* Participate in recruitment and selection activities as required.
* Maintain accurate T&A records for Stores personnel in the ERP system.
* Ensure compliance with quality, housekeeping, health & safety standards (including timely closure of findings, audits, and customer feedback).
* Plan and manage staff scheduling in line with roster agreements.
* Attend meetings and provide accurate, timely data.
* Coordinate material orders for production and cost centres, ensuring customer requirements are met.
* Support on-site customer representatives as required.
* Assist in system testing and the implementation of new processes/procedures.
* Develop and implement action plans to address performance issues.
* Prepare and deliver effective handovers.
* Lead customer visits, audits, and licence approvals.
* Manage all customs-related activities.
* Ensure relevant company policies and procedures for the Materials Department are current and compliant.
* Coordinate material sales activities.
* Carry out daily/weekly audits (e.g., 5S, temperature/humidity checks).
* Support continuous improvement initiatives through Lean processes.
* Oversee training for new team members and ongoing staff development.
* Deputise for the Materials Manager when required.
* Provide clear direction, prioritisation, and overall management for the Stores team.
* Undertake project work as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics/warehousing.
* Broad knowledge of stores operations.
* Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines/targets.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organisational abilities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
* High level of resilience and ability to manage complexity.
* Customer-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness.
* Experience working with ERP systems.
* Background in Lean/5S environments desirable.
* Project management experience advantageous.
* Energetic, dedicated approach with strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
* Willingness to work a flexible schedule, provide out-of-hours support, and travel when required.
* Commitment to company values and ethics.
* Will need to provide out of hours support per the department roster.
Typical Working Conditions
* Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
* Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon and possibly offsite providing AOG support.
* PPE is provided by AAG and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
* Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
