Job Overview
St. Michael's House is a community-based organisation offering a range of services to people with intellectual disabilities across the greater Dublin area.
The role involves working within a residential service for five individuals, collaborating with the Social Care Leader, multidisciplinary team and families to deliver person-centred care and promote independence and community integration.
Responsibilities
Provide positive behaviour and person-centred supports to ensure a good quality of life.
Work closely with the Social Care Leader, multidisciplinary team and families.
Implement positive behaviour support plans and promote independence.
Maintain a supportive and respectful environment for residents.
Essential Criteria for Applicants
Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual disability and autism.
Experience working as part of a team.
Experience implementing positive behaviour support plans.
Experience in a key role focusing on promoting independence and community integration.
Excellent communication skills.
Maintain a full clean driver's licence and willingness to drive as part of the role.
Eligible to work in Ireland.
Fluent English speaking ability.
Qualifications
QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) or equivalent.
Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies from an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland.
Level 7 awards for Social Care Worker posts accepted only if approved by CORU for registration.
CORU Registration or application in process under Section 91.
