Offer description

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner for Processing, you will operate flexibly as part of a team with responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of HR support services to management and employees in the Athlone Mail Centre (AMC). With a strong emphasis on customer service, you will ensure that HR support to the leadership team and employees is consistently of a high standard.

You will have a day-to-day working relationship with the Plant Manager and be part of the senior leadership team at Athlone Mail Centre.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a one-year specific purpose contract.

The principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Support the delivery of strategic and local initiatives by engaging relevant stakeholders.
2. Collaborate with the Plant Manager and AMC leadership to understand and meet staffing requirements through recruitment or resource reallocation, in line with company policies.
3. Conduct selection activities, including shortlisting, chairing selection boards, and providing candidate feedback.
4. Manage retirements, career break applications, resignations, and extension requests in consultation with line management, addressing staffing implications.
5. Coordinate employee exits under the Company Exit Scheme, ensuring procedures are followed and partners are briefed.
6. Support and advise line managers on HR policies such as Grievance Management, Discipline, Dignity at Work, and Union agreements, ensuring compliance.
7. Prepare casework and assist the Employee Relations team with cases at third-party bodies like the Labour Court.
8. Assist line management in managing and reducing sick absence through processes like ASMP, Return to Work Discussions, and Occupational Health referrals.
9. Engage with employees on employment matters and address issues promptly.
10. Work with HR colleagues to integrate processes for effective service delivery.
11. Monitor, analyze, and report activity in AMC and support internal audit requirements.
12. Perform duties as assigned by the Senior HR Business Partner.
13. Demonstrate company values and address behaviors that support or conflict with them.
