The IT & T function supports the Group with a solid IT foundation, develops Group systems, manages system integration, and sets IT policy and governance standards.The RoleThe Head of IT Shared Service will lead a large IT department within the Shared Service, delivering service level agreements with operating companies and overseeing multimillion-euro IT programmes and initiatives. The role drives innovation, oversees transformation, and ensures IT investments maximise value for the Group. The Head of IT will collaborate with the CIO to develop and implement IT strategies that support the company’s overall business objectives.Responsibilities and DutiesStrategic IT Leadership: Assist the CIO with developing and implementing IT strategies aligned with business goals; collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritise technology investments; drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies; lead digital transformation to improve operational efficiency and customer experience; deputise for the CIO as required, including representation at boards and governance groups.Service Delivery & Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day IT Shared Services to ensure service delivery meets business needs and SLAs; ensure IT operations are efficient, reliable, and meet performance standards; develop and present departmental reporting to stakeholders and boards.Project & Change Delivery: Support GIT&T project managers to ensure on-time, in-scope delivery aligned with objectives; ensure resources are available and accounted for; oversee change programmes with professional delivery, oversight and reporting; manage timelines, resources, and budgets; act as project sponsor as needed; manage relationships with vendors and service providers to meet contractual obligations and SLAs; build relationships with executive sponsors; develop budgets and financial plans for cost-effective IT services.Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the Group; represent the IT Shared Service in meetings, providing updates on service performance and project progress; mentor and develop the IT Shared Service team; drive talent development and succession planning.Operational Performance Management: Monitor and report IT service performance, identify areas for improvement, ensure delivery to quality standards; ensure processes and procedures maintain compliance and reduce risks.Risk & Compliance Oversight: Manage IT risks and ensure delivery complies with policies, security standards, and regulations.Qualifications and ExperienceEducational Background: Primary degree in IT or related business field; Master’s level or equivalent experience preferred.Experience: 8+ years in IT and business operations, with 4–6 years of recent leadership experience managing large cross-functional teams or services; experience in a Shared Services environment with multiple customers is advantageous.Certifications: PRINCE2, ITIL (or equivalent); strong experience in IT service management and operational delivery.Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goals.Service Delivery Focus: Proven ability to manage IT services and operations efficiently, with projects delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with business leaders and internal teams to align IT services with objectives; experience in leading, mentoring, and driving performance and accountability.Operational Efficiency: Focus on optimising IT service delivery and reducing inefficiencies across the organisation.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present complex IT concepts clearly to stakeholders and senior leaders.Work Relationships: Reports to the CIO; works with the Senior IT Leadership Team, CIO, and key business stakeholders; collaborates with third-party vendors and contractors for consistent service delivery.Employment DetailsSeniority level: ExecutiveEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Information TechnologyIndustries: Technology, Information and Media
