Overview:
We are seeking a
Senior Packaging Engineer
to join a global packaging organization supporting medical device products used by patients worldwide. This role plays a critical part in designing, developing, and validating packaging systems that ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient outcomes.
You will lead packaging initiatives from concept through commercialization, working cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams. This is an opportunity to influence packaging strategy, drive innovation, and support life-changing healthcare products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead packaging development projects for new product introductions and changes to existing products
* Design, develop, and validate sterile and non-sterile packaging systems
* Author and execute packaging validation protocols and reports
* Ensure compliance with global regulatory and quality standards
* Drive cost reduction, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Provide technical leadership and influence packaging decisions across teams
* Support audits, regulatory submissions, and represent the organization at industry forums as needed
Qualifications:
* 6+ years of packaging engineering experience, preferably within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or regulated consumer products
* Strong working knowledge of ISO 11607, ASTM, ISTA, and relevant FDA/EU MDR requirements
* Proven experience with packaging validation, technical documentation, and statistical analysis
* Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience:
* Experience supporting global product launches
* Familiarity with risk management and design controls
* Exposure to packaging automation, material optimization, or sustainability initiatives
