Salary scale
€68,897 - €80,302 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s Long Service Increments. Pay will increase in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement toward enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.
Annual leave entitlement
33 days per annum.
Overview of the Post
The post holder will provide dietetic services to children referred into the service, including nutritional counselling and clinical nutrition support for those with complex disabilities and feeding issues.
Working as part of interdisciplinary teams supporting children across the 4 Dublin South CDNTs, the post holder will manage the nutritional health of children with low weight, complex feeding difficulties, rare neurodevelopmental conditions, and those requiring specialised nutritional support.
As a positive and supportive team leader, the post holder will use clinical reasoning to give specialist support and advice to colleagues, maintain a clinical caseload and participate in audit and relevant research/evaluation projects.
Essential criteria
Hold a recognised qualification in dietetics approved by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
Be registered as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
Have five years full‑time (or equivalent) post‑qualification clinical dietetic experience, at least four years consecutive in the required area of paediatric dietetics.
Demonstrate proven record of clinical excellence in the specialism.
Show evidence of continuing professional development in paediatric dietetics, e.g., post‑graduate qualifications or relevant courses.
Show achievement in research, clinical audit, quality improvement, practice development, teaching and research.
Possess knowledge and ability for the duties of the role, including suitability, management, leadership and professional competence.
Statutory registration
Provide proof of statutory registration on the Dietitians Register before employment can be issued.
Maintain annual registration on the Dietitians Register and confirm annually with CORU.
Desirable criteria
Evidence of post‑graduation continuous professional development, including training in management of complex feeding problems.
Post‑graduate paediatric dietetic experience, including working with children with Feeding, Eating, Drinking & Swallowing needs.
Post‑graduate experience working with children with disabilities in a community‑based setting.
Knowledge of assessment and treatment of complex feeding and health issues.
